Cabo Montrose
Opening
By: Ms. Misha Morê
The new Cabo
Montrose opened
with
whirling-dervish
like
excitement. The
striking sign
portraying a
dancing marlin
and the bright
yellow building
set the stage
for a stylish
interior that is
quite the posh
upgrade from the
typical settings
on
Richmond
Avenue.
For years, they
have been
turning heads
with their fish
tacos and
margaritas while
providing guests
with a feast of
tropical
favorites with a
decor that
provides a
harbor from
dreary days.
The
chrome-plated,
six-pointed
stars that
adorned the
outside of the
building acted
as stars above,
guiding hungry
visitors to a
distinct
destination.
Just set off
from the main
bar, the cigar
room provides an
intimate
location for
those who
appreciate a
good cigar,
enjoy a creative
atmosphere and
want to have
agood time.
In conjunction
with the
restaurant's
opening was also
the presentation
of the Best
Chefs 2003.
This year's top
ten recipients
received plagues
of recognition
with thirty five
other honorable
mentions. This
year's winners
represent some
of Houston's
top
notch restaurants
like
Mark's, Tony's,
The Remington,
Cafe Red Onion,
Quattro, Cafe
Chino, Guerin's
Cellar &
Guerin's Bistro,
Pesce, Rouge and
Saba Blue Water
Cafe.
